What to Expect

What do I do and where do I go when I get there?
The Jar meets at 10:30 a.m. every Sunday at the Muncie downtown YMCA. Parking is available in the parking lot North of the YMCA (the one to your left if you are facing the front of the building). Enter through the main door (you will see a sign). Our greeters will be there to answer any questions and there are plenty of signs pointing the way to the children's areas, the main service (in the gym) and a room where you can get beverages.

What about the kids?
We have a nursery for infants to children 3-years-old located upstairs; signs will point the way. Our Children's Ministry is located in the racquetball courts downstairs for children ages pre-school to 5th grade. You are always welcome to bring your children with you to the service, but our children's ministry is very popular among the kids! We have set up a security system to insure your children are safe and well-cared for.

What can I expect during celebration?
When you enter the gym, you will receive a program that lists all upcoming programs, outreach opportunities, contact information and much more. Included in the program is an outline of Pastor Chris' teaching for the day and a Connect Card so that we can get to know you better. Take a seat wherever you are comfortable!

Fun Music
The first 20 minutes we will sing some simple contemporary songs to God, some even written by the worship band! You can either stand during the songs or sit back and take it in. We will have all the words up on the big screen for you to follow along. Our worship band is a whole bunch of people just like you who volunteer their talents!

Welcome and Giving
We will then briefly discuss a few things happening at The Jar before we take up an offering. The offering is only for those who have committed to the The Jar and are learning to give, so we encourage you to skip it if this your first time!

Message
Pastor Chris will give a 35 - 40 minute message about applying God's truths to life's challenges. Following along with the teaching notes located in the program. We end in a short song and prayer and that's it! Feel free to visit the Connections Table or talk to Chris after the service!
