Nucleus
Nucleus is where it all begins. This program is for children age 6 weeks through third grade. We believe it is important to start buliding a firm foundation right away with Jesus as the center or Nucleus of the family. On Sunday mornings our youngest children find a safe place to play and grow and begin to understand that God made them and everything around them.
Our preschoolers have their very own classroom where they experience making new friends, exploring through games and crafts, fun music, and learning about Jesus and other Bible people. Each week they learn a new catch phrase or concept to carry with them through the week. As our kids grow, they get to experience even more of the excitement of making Jesus the center of their life.
Our kindergarten through third grade students begin their morning begin their morning by reconnecting with their friends and teachers. Then they head upstairs for some rockin' worship with live music and a creative lesson that helps them dig deeper into the Bible and how God wants them to live. Their day ends with fun games and activities that help them apply the Bible to their real lives.

Collide
Collide is a special place for our fourth and fifth graders. We believe kids at his age deserve special treatment. Often they feel like they don't fit. Too big to hang with the "little" kids and not yet big enough for youth ministry. Enter Collide! We also understand that it is during these crucial years of maturing when what kids learn at church and what they learn at home and school begin to collide. So how do you make it all come together and fit? Our special curriculum for fourth and fifth graders, Grapple, allows them to ask the tough questions and dig into the Bible to see how God answers them. There's even an online component where kids can connect with their friends through the week at www.mygrapple.com. If that's not enough, these big kids have the privilege of experiencing the worship music in "big people church."
Security & Safety
At The Jar we know that children learn best when they are safe. We also know that parents will get the most out of the Celebration worship when they know their children are safe and well-cared for. Here is what we do to ensure your child's safety.
- We carefully screen every staff and volunteer member who works in the zone, including state background checks.
- Everyone who is in The Zone must wear identification stating their purpose for being there (ie. staff, volunteer, etc.).
- Children are checked in with a numbered tag system.
- Only adults with a matching tag number are allowed to take children out of the Zone.
- We keep well stocked first aid and emergency kits on hand, and always have one nurse, doctor, or other medical professional on call in the building.
It is our policy that no adult should ever be alone with a child. We also work with parents to be certain we are aware of any allergies or special needs. Parents can be contacted during the worship should their child need them. To help children develop safe friendships, we supervise play carefully. There is absolutely no pretend or real fighting, name calling or other put downs, or rough housing in The Zone.
If you have any questions about The Zone, contact Jennifer Welch.
