Verse of the Day: .There is a friend who sticks closer than a brother. PROVERBS 18:24B (NIV)

Read through this verse and then spend a minute closing your eyes and reflecting on it. What image comes to mind?

Are you or someone you know in need of a friend right now? What are some ways that God can be a friend to us?

Prayer: Father, thank you for being a friend that is always close and never at a distance. Thank you for never rejecting me despite my flaws and shortcomings. When other friendships disappoint me, remind me to encourage myself in your faithful friendship. Amen

In 1979 I was stationed at FT Campbell, KY and I met this family who became my family. Frank and Pat told me to call them mom and dad. They accepted me as one in their family. Lonely is being in Korea on the DMZ or FT Campbell the bottle and drugs were my friends. The darkness became my friend. I cursed God for how my life became so empty when I was so full of life before Korea. They say people come into your life for a short while to teach you something or to get you through something. Some people come into your life for a season but just as the seasons changes so does that person and they leave. Then there are those special people that are there for a lifetime. That family became a lifetime. Patti story is just a little different because her loneliness and isolation came later in life. Patti is my soulmate she has always been there and I for her. Now the loneliness is something that was just a bad dream. Patti and I have always been more than just best friends and how many of us can say I’m with my best friend, my soulmate. The Jar has made us stronger together and closer to God/Jesus because now we are making new lifetime friends.
