What is an online small group?
With everything going on in our world right now with COVID-19 and the stay at home orders, we are hosting our small groups online! A small group is essentially a group of 6-15 people meeting together, sharing life together and praying for and supporting each other.
Why should I join a small group?
We believe that life change happens best in the context of a small group of people (Hebrews 10:24-25, Luke 6:12-13, Acts 2:44-46). In these communities we are to be the church to one another and demonstrate the church to a watching world as we live out the "one another" commands of scripture.
We must be a church of small groups rather than a church with small groups, committed to the value of every member being cared for in a community that will love and prompt him or her to grow. When you can get together regularly with the same group of people where you are known, loved, celebrated and served, that's when you are really experiencing church the way God intended it.

How do I do an online small group?
Different small group leaders are utilizing different tools to make these digital small groups happen, but the most used tools are Zoom and Facebook Video chat. Both places have options for free accounts.
What if I have kids at home?
Once again, different groups decide to handle this in different ways. First of all, we're all in the same boat right now, so people are more understanding if there are kids talking or moving in the background. Usually we just mute our line until we're ready to share so the background noise isn't distracting. We also have some groups with younger children who decided to move their group time to 8pm so the little ones get tucked in first. The biggest thing is, don't let not having childcare stop you from connecting in a group!
