Revelation 21:3-4 - I heard a loud shout from the throne, saying, “Look, God’s home is now among his people! He will live with them, and they will be his people. God himself will be with them. Psalm 30:5b - Weeping may last through the night, but joy comes with the morning.
You have gone through so much these past few years, give yourself grace and remember God is there to bring joy in the morning. Matthew 5:4 - God blesses those who mourn, for they will be comforted.
How do you lift yourself up during seasons of mourning or sadness? Psalm 34:18 - The Lord is close to the brokenhearted; he rescues those whose spirits are crushed.
How can you relate to Jakob's story? "He comforts us in all our troubles so that we can comfort others. When they are troubled, we will be able to give them the same comfort God has given us."
How have you been able to comfort others through something you've experienced? Philippians 4:6-7 - Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. 7 And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
What is something you can be thankful for today? John 14:17 - Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.
Who do you run to when you are anxious? Matthew 6:33-34
But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own. Is there something you need to give to God today? Psalm 23 - 1 The LORD is my shepherd, I lack nothing. 2 He makes me lie down in green pastures, he leads me beside quiet waters, 3 he refreshes my soul. He guides me along the right paths for his name’s sake. 4 Even though I walk through the darkest valley,I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me. 5 You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies. You anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows. 6 Surely your goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the LORD forever.
